In 2011, Marie Kondo took the world by storm with her illustrated guide to the Japanese art of tidying. It was titled simply, “Spark Joy.” In late 2024, after 30+ years in corporate marketing and strategy roles, I connected with this concept on a deeper level and decided to seek more purpose (and joy!) in my professional life.
I spent time soul searching and challenging myself to find what “sparked joy” in my life. And since I didn’t think I could make much money playing with my granddaughters or my English Bulldog, I remembered a video that I’d posted on my Facebook page back in 2021. The video clearly depicts my sheer (and somewhat goofball) excitement at completing a kitchen remodel project with pull-out drawer shelving installed in all of my lower cabinets. One of my oldest and dearest friends commented on the video saying, “This might be one of the most “you” things I’ve ever seen.” And she was right. Organizing spaces to be more efficient and easier to access has always been a joy for me – and let’s face it, it’s just prettier and more pleasing to be around order and calm versus chaos and clutter.
So, Fish Genius Home Organization was born from my desire to help others reduce clutter and find more stress-free living within their own homes.
In addition, my life experience includes raising a nuclear family where 3 of our 5 core members have ADHD. This evolved my organization skills to become essential life skills – helping those I love better manage productivity, focus, and concentration through organization.
I’ve done projects over the years for friends and family, and now I’m ready to help you with your next home improvement project.
Fish Genius Home Organization is ready for projects large or small. And know that when we are onsite, we are in it, with you – rolling up our sleeves to sort, declutter, fold, purge, and create organizational beauty in your home.
